RICHMOND — The memorial service for Robert Hunter Smith II, 56, of West Avenue, who died Feb. 22, 2011, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James’s Episcopal Church, 1205 W. Franklin St., Richmond.
He was born in Martinsville to Thelma Lipford Smith of Martinsville and Norris Franklin Smith. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Temple Smith.
Smith had been an investment manager in the financial services industry since 1983 and had been with Davenport and Co. LLC.
He was the mayor of the West Avenue Improvement Association and was on the board of the Virginia Museum of Natural History in Martinsville.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Heather Fix Smith; a daughter, Carthen Temple Smith; three sons, Robert Hunter Smith III, Christopher Davis Smith and Hayden Millar Smith; and a brother, Nelson Franklin Smith.
Memorials may be made to the Robert H. Smith II Family Educational Fund at Davenport and Co.
Angelus Funeral & Cremation in Richmond is in charge of arrangements.
