Nancy Fannon Arnold (1959) Passed Away - 54
10/25/10     Ken Major  (1957)      kmajor@jetbroadband.com
I learned of the passing of Nancy Fannon Arnold while in Norther Virginia visiting the grandkids. I regret I was
not here to say goodby.
I spoke at length on the phone with her
several weeks ago. She sounded strong then.
Spoke with her again briefly just a week ago
still trying to work out a meeting in Rocky
Mount for coffee and conversation. She
sounded much weaker this time.
My last two years of high school I lived directly across a narrow street from
Nancy I would go over and play records and
wse would sit on her porch swing drinking
Polly Bergens (Pepsi). We called them that
back then because Polly Bergen did all the
Pepsi advertising. Nancy had a friend I
liked that would come over at times. When
she did they would call me by playing the
record "The Wayward Wind" by Gogi Grant and
when they got to ....the next of"kin"...
They turned the volume all the way and I
would hear my name and go over.
Now I perceive Nancy in Heaven sitting
on a porch swing sipping on a Polly Bergen.
At ease and without pain. Yet another Mavahi
light is extinguished. I sense it is a
little less brighter here.
Just To say I will miss her....does not say it at all.
