Class of 1962 Message List
Loss of Fred Robbins - Class of 1962 - 9
07/02/11     Bruce Lupton  (1962)      cbrucelupton@yahoo.com
The message below was provided by Fred Robbins's brother.
Quote
Freddie passes away this morning (Friday, July 1st) about 330 am. He dies in his sleep.
I do not believe there will be a service. Either Steph or I will let you
know any details.

My brother's death was merciful. There was no way he was going to get well,
and the fact that he did not linger was something he wanted.

He valued his friends, family and his dogs above all else.
=======================================
Fred had been extremely ill for the past couple months or so. I did not
send a mass e-mail at that time to the entire class out of deference to
Fred's privacy.

He was a caring, loving family man and a wonderful friend for over 60 years.

I am devastated.

When Fred realized that the end was near, he composed some of his thoughts
on growing up in Martinsville and what it meant to him. The essay is
dedicated to "My Dear Classmates, the Bulldogs of MHS '61".

I'll make sure that it is appended to our 50th reunion booklet. For those
classmates who are unable to attend the reunion and do not order one of the
booklets, let me know and I'll email you a copy of Fred's thoughts.

God bless Fred Robbins.
