Gary Stephen Eaton, 57, of 110 Roselawn Heights, Martinsville, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.

He was born in Martinsville on April 25, 1952, to the late Roy C. Eaton and Ruth Chitwood Eaton.

After graduating from the Newport News Shipyard Apprentice School, he worked at the shipyard for more than 30 years as a production control planner.

He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Knights of Pythias, Martinsville Chapter.

Surviving are one daughter, Angela Atkinson of Cary, N.C.; a sister, Robin Eaton Conway of East Haven, Conn.; and one grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Roselawn Burial Park with the Rev. Lewis Harris officiating.

Memorials may be made to McCabe Memorial Baptist Church, 107 Clearview Drive, Martinsville, Va. 24112.

Norris Funeral Services and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
