Mr. May is alive! We had heard he had a heart attack, but I received the following email from him today!
no I am fine- still teaching math- after 34 years and plan to continue for a good while-as long as it is still fun and there are still kids like the class of 71- I will stay where I belong- in the classroom. I am sorry I could not attend the reunion last weekend- had planned on it-but my wife as cancer and had had a rough week and did not feel I could or should leave her -she is doing well and the doctors say the outlook is very good-but the treatments can be a little rough. I should have let you folks know something-and am sorry for any concern that I may have caused. The class of 71 was my first senior class that I taught and will always be very special to me. Please kept in touch an I look forward to the next reunion-God willing I will make every effort to be there--thanks for thinking of me-God Bless you all. George May |

Re: Mr. May |
Mr May--just found out recently you went to school with my oldest brother, Melvin. He moved back to M'ville from CA in October. Take care of yourself and the family. |
