Hey! All of you '64 Dawgs! It's time to GET DOWN and have a real PARTY the 2nd weekend in October. Not only will we have a great time with our own class at a private party, but we will be joining the Ole Dawgs of Cleveland Avenue Reunion, held that Saturday at the (now) Martinsville Middle School Cafeteria for a great lunch and see old friends from other classes. I am putting this out there to see what kind of response I get. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the emails from many of you from this year back to the beginning. I am afraid I do not have many of your email addresses but I have all of the email addresses from the Mavahi.com message board for our class.
I am sorry I have not been the diligent communicator that I should have been; however, that does not mean that I love all of you any less, it just means that life has become more complex with retirement, grandchildren, and children living in "faraway places" (There ought to be a song there somewhere). I have read how many of you want to get together for a reunion and are hoping to get those of us who have never been to a reunion before. I think this is a fantastic idea! Let us know how you feel about this and we will get right on it.
Dink has been retired since 2001 after 30+ years as a juvenile probation officer for Martinsville and Henry Co.
I have been retired for 1 year, after teaching at MHS for 20 years, and PHCC for 13 years.
We have two daughters and a son: Liz and Mary Woodson, are both married and live out of the area; Harrison lives in Martinsville and works as a graphic artist for SouthPrint, and is currently one of the organizers for Rooster Walk, a weekend music celebration which has gained much notoriety in the 5 years it has been in existence.
We have 3 grandchildren: 2 boys and a girl. They are our pride and joy as you can imagine. We hope all of you are well and will respond to this email about coming back to MHS in October 2012. It won't be any fun without YOU!!!

Hey Ann Carter and Dink! Good to hear from you and it has been too long since we got together. I'm always up for a reunion and the October weekend you mentioned sounds great to me. Let me know if I can help in any way. |

October sounds good to me. Im' not yet retired, but I have 8,329.6 hours of banked leave time. Might take some of that time off in preperation. I'm just costing until next year anyway. Let me know if I can help.

Count me in Anne Carter; if I can help out let me know. Being semi retired is good too; I work just enough to stay out of trouble. As you know, my dynamic duo are lot more than a "few" miles away too. O.K. boys and girls we are playing up the back nine of life so every body make plans to attend!! |
