I am devastated hearing of Frank's passing. Frank and I were in first grade together at Patrick Henry Elementry School. He was my first best friend, we were six years old. He was truly an amazing man. He was always kind to everyone and never failed to say "Hi" when passing in the hallway. He made all of us his friend simply because he was a nice guy. His success in journalism was an inspiration to many of his colleagues. Frank was nominated for the Pulitzer prize twice during his 30 year tenure at the Charoltte Observer. In the past six months, we have lost Andy Geoghagen, Donnie Barbour, Charles Van Lear, Debbie Blackard Chase and now Frank Barrows...My sadness is overwhelming
