Well, about the time most of you are thinking of retirement, I am going back into the classroom. I will have 8th grade at a middle school. I will co-teach with emphasis in helping those who may be behind-- "No Child Left Behind". If any of you present or former teachers have any helpful suggestions about discipline or class management, please advise. Our county (Hall County, Georgia) is one of the seven fastest growing counties in the U.S. Two years ago they hired apprx. 200 new teachers. Need a job???
...And fifty-nine is not as old as I once thought it was. Jerry |

| Good luck to you. I retired at 52 and am your age. I can't think of going back but I loved what I did for 30 years. I always kept my class on a schedule that was consistent from week to week (as much as I could). I always felt like I anticipated problems and tried to do preventative things AHEAD of time. I was considered successful at teaching Jr. High (grades 7 - 9) for 17 years. Every situation is different and everyone has to have their own personal style. Again, good luck. You have a challenging but often satisfying job ahead of you. |

| god luck Jerrry-I have been teaching for 38 years now and it is still fun-I look forward to going into the classroom everyday-- sorry I missed the Old Dawgs-my wife has cancer and I wanted to stay with her-she is getting better but much to do.
