On April 29th,as most of you will this year,I started my sixth decade of "It's a Wonderful Life". I guess I was dreading it, but the day thereof wasn't as bad as the dread. Evidently, it is normal that memories of childhood and school days still remaing vivid. I was in Martinsville three weeks ago to visit. I am finishing my first year of my new careeer of teaching. It went well. Take care and "HAPPY BIRTHDAY". Jerry
P.S. I have noticed that all boards have been silent this year. Just post little happenings that might be of interest to your friends. |

Re: The big |
Dear Jerry, I haven't been on the web site in so long. I am in my 34th year of teaching and I am wondering, "Are you crazy?" Just kidding. Hey, by the way, why haven't we seen you at a class reunion since the 25th?
I am hoping you will make the next one which will be in '08 or sooner. Also, the Ole Dogs of Cleveland Ave. is an annual reunion and this year it will be on Oct.6-7. It is a cumulative get-together of anyone who graduated from MHS when it was located on Cleveland. Friday night anyone who wants to comes to the football game and afterwards we go to Rania's Italian Restaurant (Mitchell-Howell Ford) on Main St. and socialize getting something to eat or drink and just talk. Saturday, we meet in our MHS (Martinsville Middle School) cafeteria and have a catered lunch by an alumnus who has a nice restaurant in Stoneville,NC (Titus Sparks MHS '55. On Saturday night, some of us meet back at the cafeteria and have a sock-hop and socialize some more. Another alternative is that some of us go to Forest Park and eat dinner together and have a great time doing that. Please consider coming back to Martinsville and attending the Ole Dawgs event in October. Dink and I are both 60, but we try not to dwell on that.
I am going to try to keep up with our class on this web site while I am off this summer.
take care and please think about October 6-7. |
