Ken, you have my greatest respect for your dedication to education these many years. I was one who didn't study much in high school but started making good grades in college--it felt so much better than making D's. Now I am telling these kids they can make good grades if they will just turn in their work. So many of them just won't get started. I can see myself in so many of them. My most enjoyable experience so far is co-teaching in Language Arts and helping them write poetry, research papers, etc. ---something I had a hard time beleiving I could do when at Mavahi. Thanks for the response. Jerry |

Re: Response to Ken Wilson |
Ken, What is with Bruce Lupton and Jerry Poff going into teaching, in their "golden" years? They must be living in a "bubble". We had 2 "new" teachers, who thought they could teach school after retiring from successful careers. One was in the hospital two of the three weeks before she quit, and the other was a man who was a retired floor manager at Leggets and was glued to the chair with superglue before two weeks of school had passed last fall. Obviously, he had never seen "Sister Act II". Neither of them lasted a month in this jungle. Don't people have hobbies and outside interests anymore? Go Figure! ann |
