As a sign of how old all of us are gettin', I noticed an internet blurb about John Kennedy's being shot in Dallas.
I remember that I was suffering in Miss
Crum's Spanish One class when the tragic announcement came over the p a system. There
was absolute shock and general disbelief!!
One of the saddest moments that I ever witnessed was later in the day when Walter Kronkite announced the President's death!
Do you guys remember which class you were
in, when the news was received?
Take care!

I remember it was typing class with a nice lady who had a little lisp -- but I can't remember her name. It was truly a shocking day that has only been eclipsed by 9-11. |

Carlotta, surely you haven't forgotten Mrs. Hylton's typing class. Only Miss Swindell was more memorable. I, too, was in that class, and I will never forget the feeling of 'camelot falling' that we all experienced.....

Our Junior Play was opening that night, remember!? Barry Brigman and I [also Wes
Shumate]were on the SETS committee had used our study hall to go backstage and check things out; we were walking back up the auditorium aisle when the PA came on...our next class was Mr Zirkle's Physics. As I recall it was later the next week when our physics class was referred to as "a bunch of Oswalds". We were at that point when the world suddenly took a major turn and we all felt the tremble. best wishes - john |
