We were coming back from FT Fisher, NC after spending 3 nights at the beach. Coming through Sanford, NC, a 23 year old sailor pulled out in front of me in a 2009 black Mustang convertible. There were two north bound lanes. He stomped on the gas and lost control on the newly asphalted road. He fished tailed a couple of times in both lanes and went toward the right side of the road. He over corrected and swerved in front of me. My Chevy Silverado pulling a 30 travel trailer had no place to go when I t-boned him on the driver side. He was looking at me when I hit him. Pushed him about 130 feet across a median into the opposite lanes of traffic. My truck was totaled. He was taken to the hospital. The police officer is going to cite him for wreckless driving. My neighbor is taking me to Sanford to pick up my trailer to bring home so that I can check to see if any damage was done to it.
The air bags deployed and wife was hit in the face. I was holding the steering wheel and the air bag scrapped my arms. I only have a bruise on my shin and wife is fine.
Now, I have to find another truck for our trip to Arkansas in Sept.
Hated that is happened. but it was better my truck than a smaller car and someone else getting hurt.

Re: Beach Trip |
I went to the tow service to clean out what I could from the truck. Trailer seemed fine except for mess inside. I found out that the driver of the Mustang was airevaced to another hospital. Just hope that he will be fine.
Now the job of finding a replacement vehicle. |

Re: Beach Trip |
I found out today that the Mustang driver is fine. Only bruises. No broken bones or internal injuries. That is a blessing.

I am so sorry and relieved that you and Judy are okay. Cars can be replaced but you two can't. |
