We are being bombarded by sleet this am after a day of snowfall. Now I know you folks in the north think nothing of this -- but we are "wusses" in this mess. We have had snow storms all winter. I'm glad I'm taking a cruise this coming December. Hope we aren't in the middle of "snowmageddon" again. Hope all are well. |

Talkin' about snow: does anybody remember the winter when we were in the 4th or 5th grade and we missed about
two weeks of school? I recall that with the make-up days,
the school term ended in the third week of June.
Carlotta: beware of all those reported viruses on the cruise ship! |

Carlotta, how was the cruise? Thought of you recently when news of the Viking cruise ship virus was broadcast.
Jenkie, whenever anyone mentions the latest weather phenomena theory, I reply with a comment something like, "It may be 'new' today however I remember when..." And, whenever anyone complains about the weather I remind them that, given time, it will change.
While I do not remember what elementary grade we were in, I do remember having to attend school into the hot summer because we had a treat of wearing Bermuda-length shorts, an absolute "no,no!" back then, and eating ice cream or freezer pops in the morning before lunch followed by a "rest period" after lunch because of the heat - no air condition only open windows with an occasional breeze. Some classes had fans that either the teacher or a parent supplied. I do remember having some winters with a lot of snow and some with no snow. Just like it is now. |

The cruise is this coming December. But I love cruising so. It will be great. |
