Brenda Hopkins Collins
September 10, 1947 - May 18, 2021
Brenda Hopkins Collins, 73, of Stoneville, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at UNC-Rockingham Health Care in Eden, North Carolina. She was born on September 10, 1947, in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Walter Amos and Christine Hill Hopkins.
Brenda was a retiree of the DuPont Nylon Plant in Martinsville, serving nearly 30 years there. She loved the beach, singing along to oldies music and watching endlessly the birds, deer and any other critters that might be in the yard.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death in 2014 by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Collins, also of Stoneville. She is survived by her son, Jason Thomas Collins, of Richmond, Virginia. Special appreciation goes to cousins, Bonnie Brewer and Patricia Poole (and Hugh) for their support when needed.
The graveside service will be on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Burial Park with Minister David Deisher officiating.

Re: the passing of a classmate Brenda Hopkins Collins |
Billy, Kathy sent me an email three days before she passed about Brenda Hopkins. I had sent her an email about Johnny Shenal, and how Johnny, Charlie Van Lear, and Larry Lynch were the last people that I thought would leave us...Kathy said 'Archie, we are losing a lot of friends'....never did I envision Kathy as being before Johnny.... |
