| Hello, Class of '65! Thank you, Will, for clearing that up and thank you, John for all your great work. I have had so many responses to the idea of forming an alumni association for the classes who graduated from the Cleveland Avenue site. Will Gravely has offered to help and others, too. I am planning to go to Martinsville before Christmas to meet with those people and finalize a date, etc. PLEASE let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas. I think we should stick to an afternoon even this time. Some of the classes who are having a reunion next summer want us to co-ordinate it with them. We'll do the best we can. | Hi, Kathy! I think that is a great idea--joining forces with other classes. If a particular class is planning a party for just their own class, say, on a Sat. night, perhaps earlier that same day there could be a casual gathering that includes that class plus a few other classes who were in high school WITH them. When I recall my "high school career," I GLEEFULLY remember being in the classroom, bleachers, clubs, and at social functions with folks from other classes. It would be fantastic to see them again! |

| I think the idea of an Alumni Gathering would be wonderful. If there is anything I can help do from afar (Chattanooga TN), please let me know. John and I transferred through DuPont in 1998. Someone (1964 class) wrote messages regarding the Fieldale sockhops. They hold a special memory for me, as John and I met for the first time there in the summer of 1962 (on the porch of the "Y", it started raining)...can't believe we've been together that long! Judy |
