Great Old Dawgs Turnout Thanks to Committee
10/08/06 Phil Sparks (1965) PhilSparks@kimbanet.com
What a super Old Dogs turnout and the Committee again has outdone themselves. Each of these events have actually became better and I think the interest is absolutely growing. I hope between now and next year's repeat we can all take Kathy (Mitchell '65) Rice's advice and get some of our classmates and siblings to show up who have never shared the experience. What makes the "Old Dogs" so unique is that we get to see folks from all the classes around us. Of course the fact that the Class of 1956 was having their 50th reunion that night @ the Dutch Inn brought in several out of town faces along with local 56ers. Looks like making class reunions coincide with Old Dogs is good for both. Thank you Kathy Mitchell Rice, Sue Stultz Love, Yvonne Martin Turner, Jo Ann Zimmerman Frost, Marilyn Turner, Melvin Smith, Carol and Jan Pratt, Nelson Smith, Merle Duffy, Lucy Lemons and Ann and "Dink" Gardner. What makes this committee so special is that they have worked on this event the entire year. This year there were Old Dogs Sweatshirts available and they really look nice. The Committee may have some left if anyone is interested. Some interesting things about the reunion is how many brothers and sisters attended. If you have siblings that attended MAVAHI bring them along next year. Past teachers and coaches were well represented. Many husband and wife teams were there and of course they're still all madly in love. I can remember few Autumn Saturdays that can equal this year's Old Dog's Reunion. Count me in for next year and again Thank you to the Old Dogs Committee, You guys are great.

Re: Great Old Dawgs Turnout Thanks to Committee |
Thanks Phil, the kind words are well recieved and appreciated. Who would have thought six years ago when Kathy came up with the idea to get all that attended MAVAHI of Cleaveland Ave. together that it would be so much fun. The committee deserves a all the thanks, but Kathy deserves the biggest at-a-boy for getting the committee together from [at that time] way up north. Again, thank you Phil foir the words and thank you Kathy for the dedication. |
