William R. Martin Sr., retired publisher of the Martinsville Bulletin, died Friday, April 16, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church in Martinsville, with burial in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the home of his daughter and her husband, Lou and George Harris, 1309 Mulberry Road, Martinsville.

Martin, 90, of Martinsville, joined the Bulletin in 1948 as an accountant. He later served as business manager and general manager before being named publisher on April 5, 1959. He retired on June 20, 1989.
