I had just posted the news about the passing of Marshall Pinkard's mother when I learned that Cathy Simmons Brookman's mother also died today.
The class of '68 had the distinct pleasure of attending a cocktail party hosted by Mrs. Simmons at our class reunion in May 2006. It was held on Friday evening and started off our reunion weekend just beautifully. As always, Mrs. Simmons was the perfect hostess and we all enjoyed visiting with her once again. She had also invited Mr. and Mrs. Lester - Stephen's mom & dad and Mr. and Mrs. Groves - Irving's parents. Stephen & Irving were unable to attend so we visited with the parents instead! As you know, Mr. Lester is now also gone. We are so fortunate that we all had the opportunity to see them in May and must remember to let our friends and family know how much we care for them whenever we have the chance. Life is just too short.
Our condolences to Cathy and her family from the class of '68. We send our love and prayers.

| We are so sorry to hear such sad news. To Marshall and Cathy, and all of our friends who have recently lost dear parents, our sincerest sympathy. Beth, thank you for being kind enough to keep us all posted on our friend's tough times. I hope it helps to know that many people are thinking of you all at this time. |

I was deepy saddened to hear about your Mom's passing yesterday. My Mom called me this afternoon & told me. I hope it will be a comfort to you and your entire family to know you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
