I received several calls, e-mails, and letters of sympathy due to my mother's passing. All were very appreciated, and a help in getting through this difficult time.
I don't remember seeing it on the website, Bobby Stone's mother passed away a few short months ago. Condolences to him and his sister Polly(1970) as well. I remember Mrs. Stone well, as my late father at one time worked for Bobby's late father(Paul)at R.P. Thomas Trucking Co.
I read a short article in the Roanoke paper that Jerry Utt (55) was killed while riding a bicycle. I remember a Jerry Utt from the 8th or 9th grade, and I was just wondering if it was the same Jerry Utt.
I attended the Old Dawgs reunion last year, and had a wonderful time. I hope our class is well represented this year. Any you babes out there want to go and need a ride, ole Denny will be glad to escort you.
Thanks again for the expressions of sympathy, and I hope to see you at Old Dawgs. |

Denny...you're quite welcome, classmate. I regret I didn't post a condolence message here for Bobby when his Mom passed away though he and his family were in our thoughts.
That is the same Jerry Utt. I grew up with Jerry and went to elementary school with him. His uncle was Rudy Utt, an upholsterer and noted bowler in the area. One memory I have of Jerry was a fight he and I got into on Dillard St when we were in elementary school---to this day, I still can't remember what the fight was over.
Hope to see you at this year's Old Dawgs reunion. As far as "babes" go, I still remember that picture from last year's Old Dawgs reunion of you and that one "babe" you posed with (hehehe). |

Nellie,
Is there anyone you did not get in a fight with during the Clearview School days? Let's not forget Jerry's cousin Phyllis who later left MAVAHI for Droopy Mason and became the prom queen. What a looker!
