I was 'catching up' with some of the message boards, and saw that George May has passed away. I think ours was the first class play he directed. It was our senior year, 'You Can't Take It With You'. He & Pam Eubanks directed. He was genuinely fun to be around & I think he cared very much about us all. I may be wrong, but I think he'd lost his wife earlier this year, as well. |

Hi Kathy,
I did see the Obit in the Bulletin (I read it online & try to keep up with what is going on in the 'Ville). He did direct our play and I was lucky enough to be in it. He was a funny guy. I just didn't realize at the time that he was really fairly close to us in age. I remember Mr. May visiting our Biology class (Mr. Vickers) and showing us how a mouse could fit thru his class ring! You'd think I would remember something more useful from Biology, but there you have it. He, Mr. Vickers, and Mr. Starr were some of my favorite teachers. |

I never had Mr. May or Mr. Starr as teachers, but I always liked Mr. May, and Mr. Vickers is still one of my favorites.
I read the obit, too, and it seemed so sad. So much loss in his life. Losing parents is one thing - but a daughter? That's so hard. And his sister, and, just last spring, his wife. Makes you really want to count your blessings, and go out & hug all your family. |
