Once hearing of the passing of Jamie Mason a flood of wonderful memories came back all at once and a deep sadness and sorrow filled my heart for my old friend and team mate.Jamie was one of the greatest athletes to ever come out of Martinsville High School and probably bar none the strongest.Playing Football with Jamie was a true honor and an experience one could never forget,Let me tell you when Jamie hit you you knew you had been hit,it took days to get over it you felt like you had been run over by a Bulldozer or attacked by a Grizzlie Bear. His awsome strength put him in a class of his own.Jamie was one of only a few high schoolers anywere in the country who could pick a man up by his ankles and hold you upside down until you begged to be turned loose.
Jamie no one who ever knew you will ever forget you and you will always be in our hearts and our thoughts and in our prayers |

Re: Remembering a Bulldog Legend |
Jamie was definitely a Bulldog legend. While he may or may not have been the best football player that came from Martinsville, there is "no doubt" he was the best offensive lineman that ever came from Martinsville. Hands down. More importantly, he was the type of person everyone looked up to and he never let his ego "ever" get the best of him. He was a humble man, that respected everyone, no matter what walk of life, color, creed, background, it did not make any difference. He always had something positive to say to everyone, and that big smile, who can forget that. We should all take stock in that. It was a true honor to have known him and to have had the opportunity to have spent time growing up with him. I'll truly cherish those times with my buddy Maseman. |
