| Does anyone remember what the science courses were taught at Martinsville Junior High when we were attending the school? I recall that the school had a 1 year Biology course & another course which taught 1/2 year of advanced topics in Biology such as genetics & 1/2 year of Earth Science. Were there any other science courses offered at the school such an introductory physical science course? |

| I may have been wrong in stating that the school had a course which taught 1/2 year of advanced topics in Biology such as genetics & 1/2 year of Earth Science. This course may have been a course in which the 2nd half of a 1 year Biology class & 1/2 year of Earth Science were taught. If this was so, then mostly likely there was another course in the school in which the first 1/2 year of a 1 year Biology class & 1/2 year of another science topic was taught. I remember that there was an additional science class in the school (besides the first class that I mentioned) which taught introductory Biology. |

| I have found the answers to my questions. During the '73-'74 school year, MJHS had a 2 year science course sequence. Students in the 8th grade took a 1/2 year course in Biology & a 1/2 year course in Earth Science. Students in the 9th grade took a 1/2 year course in Chemistry & a 1/2 year course in Physics. MJHS also had a 1 year course in Biology. |
