I received a card today from fellow classmate, Bayness Powell, who now lives
in Florida. He had enclosed a clipping from the Fort Walton Beach newspaper,
which told of the passing of another of our classmates, Curtis Wells.
Curtis and his wife, Carmen, were here for our 50th reunion. He was having
to use an oxygen tank then, but he seemed to be in very good spirits. I
always liked Curtis. He was a cheerful, friendly guy. I am sorry to hear of
his passing and my prayers and sympathy go out to his family.
I have copied the clipping and am putting it below here for those of you who
might like to read it.
Thanks, Bayness, for letting us know.
Esther

Curtis Dalton Wells
1938 - 2008
The story of life sometimes contains abrupt changes that many in a family must
survive in order to remain strong. A life is indeed precious and the many memories
that develop alongside the road of life aid in the pain suffered from the sudden
departure of a loved one. Those individual memories, whether brief in moment or
not, will live on in the combined love of a family.
On the morning of Dec. 9, 2008, with his son by his side, Curtis Dalton Wells, age
70, left this existence with the love of his family guiding his passing. He was born
on July 20, 1938, and served 22 years in the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in
death by both his parents, Vaughn and Samuel Wells.
He left behind his faithful wife of 38 years, Carmen Wells; his three children, James Wells (wife, Juana), CD Wells (wife, Denise), and Valeri Dalton (husband, Michael); his 11 grandchildren, JoAn Babula (Mark), Heidy Sturm (Donald), JD Wells, Celeste Dalton-Perry (Daniel), Anastasia Dalton, Jessica Dalton, Megan, Kylie and Samantha Wells. He had five great-grandchildren, Ethan Perry, Donnie, Hayden, Andrew and LilyAna Sturm; along with many other close family and friends.
We will all wait eagerly for the time when we will be reunited with our loved ones. __________________________________________

Esther, I was sad to learn of the passing of Curtis. Thank you so much for advising our class. He was a sweet man and so enjoyed our 50th reunion with his wife, Carmen. My sympathy goes to her and to her family. Ann |
