Another member of our class of '56 has left us. Nancy was always such a sweet and sincere person in school and she remained the same throughout her life.

The funeral for Nancy Minter McDonald, 72, of 209 Wilde St., Ridgeway, who died Sept. 22, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Norris Funeral Services in Martinsville. The Revs. Mike Carrow and Ben Barbour will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends an hour before the service Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the home on Wilde Street.
She was born Sept. 3, 1938, in Martinsville to Annie Elizabeth Carter Minter and Tilla S. Minter.
She graduated from Martinsville High School and James Madison University, and was a teacher in the Henry County School system for 32 years.
She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Red Hat Society.
She was a member of Calvary Christian Church in Martinsville for more than 20 years.
Surviving are her husband, Alfred Louis McDonald of the home; a daughter, Karen McDonald Parsons of Richmond; a son, Timothy Louis McDonald of Ridgeway; a brother, George Carter Minter of Salem; and three grandchildren.

The funeral for Nancy M. McDonald, 72, of Ridgeway, who died Sept. 22, 2010, was held Saturday at Norris Funeral Services Chapel with the Revs. Mike Carrow, Ben Barbour and Arthur Bean officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Martinsville.
Pallbearers were Jeff Parson, Chris Neveu, Zach Neveu, Rick Neveu, Freddy Fulcher, John Tetterton, Kiah Cooper and David McDonald.
