Gordon Axelson passed away Tuesday. I remember Gordon as a very smart guy but also with a fantastic sense of humor. My sympathy to his family.

Gordon Joseph Axelson II, 73, of Claudville, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart.
He was born Jan. 11, 1938, in Detroit, Mich., to Gordon J. Axelson I and Dorothy Hild Axelson.
He had owned and operated an accounting firm and had attended Bethel Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Janice Mills Axelson of the home; two daughters, Carla Pope of Fort Drum, N.Y., and Michelle Wilson of Clemmons, N.C.; four grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Morris of Spencer.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 58, Claudville, Va. 24076, or to the Dalton Family Cemetery, c/o Carroll Dalton, 1448 Stateline Church Road, Westfield, N.C. 27053.
Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is in charge of arrangements.
