Martinsville High School has lost one of
the best all-around sportsmen it ever
possessed. Carl H. "Rip" Moser passed away
down in Florida a few days ago. I am call-
ing on the 'Old Dawgs Alumni Association to
PLEASE dedicate 'Old Dawgs III to the
memory of a great student ... Carl H.
Moser, III! |

Re: Rest In Peace, |
THIS GUY WAS A TREMENDOUS FOOTBALL PLAYER. I THINK HE MIGHT HAVE PLAYED AT UVA AFTER MAVAHI BUT I'M NOT SURE. I KNOW AS A KID WATCHING HIM WAS A GREAT THRILL FOR ME. A LOT OF PEOPLE MAY NOT REMEMBER HIM BUT IN MY OPINION HE RANKS RIGHT UP THERE WITH THE BEST OF THEM. |

Re: Rest In Peace, |
Rip Moser was one of the best to play for MHS--I was a Soph. & had the pleasure of practicing & playing behind Rip on the undefeated Fall '55 team(Tom Burnette's last team). Rip started at running back for UVA his Soph.year at running-back & defensive back(had to play both ways back then). Rip was all-state his Sr. year of high school in football & held the 100 yd. & Broad-jump records in track for quite a while, also. He will be be very much missed by all that knew him. |
