I'm Ralph's green-eye booger, his baby! I want to thank you for your thoughts, prayers, phone calls, e-mails, cards & the beautiful flowers.. Dad use to tell me stories about when he was growing up, I loved his stories! It means alot to me, to read how much he will be missed by all his friends.. If you have any funny stories about my Dad, please share them with me. I would love that! Mom & I are hoping to make a trip to VA because I would like to meet some of his friends.. I hope thats possible! Thanks again for everything! |

Re: My Father (Ralph Pruitt) |
I want to echo Moir Hill's fond memory of we Southsider's going to play Northside each Mon.-Fri. for several yrs. during the summer. I doubled on Moir's bike each day. "Crow"(Ralph) said that all the N'siders would be waiting in anticipation for us to show-up & to give us a good "lilckin". But my memory want let me remember them ever beating us!! "Crow"s memory seemed to work just the opposite!!
"Crow" also said that N'side always beat S'side in all the 6-man football championship games. I seem to remeber it the other way! Regardless, those 6-man games were pure ' knock down-drag out wars--no holds barred affairs. I've told Ralph that we all(North & South) just became "siders when we all meshed at Jr. & Sr. high schools. And, I seem to remember that we had some pretty good teams 'back then'!!
I'll really miss my ole 'sider friend & his e-mails & his kind words about my brother & I(he even bragged on my son even though he'd never met him). The last e-mail I got from"Crow", he sent me a picture of his new grandbaby girl. I could almost feel the glow of pride thru the computer lines that he was feeling!!
I could ramble on for hours about our tales(some may even true) of yesterday, but I'll spare everyone! So, like Moir(that's Jr. Hill to the un-informed; class '54) said, I hope he's got a team of 'siders waiting up there, cause we're getting up a team to play them--hope it goes into extra innings!!
To Jean, 'green-eyed booger Deb & rest of the family, thanks for sharing 'ole "Crow" & may God bless. Your friend & "sider, Irvin |
