Fourteen '56 classmates met at the Dutch Inn today, Wednesday, October 19, 2005, for lunch and a meeting to try to get plans rolling for our 50th Reunion. Benny Eanes presided....or at least he "stood up" during most of it and managed to keep us all in line and on topic about as much as possible.
Besides Benny (Charlotte, N.C.), other members attending were Ann Minter Been (Colorado), Sandra Fulcher Puckett (Oak Island, N.C.), Susan Field and John Martin (Charlotte, N.C.), Nancy Strickler Arnold (Rocky Mount, Va.), Lois Stanley Flippen, Virginia "Puddin" Flannagan Wallace, Shirley Key Reeves, Stella Shupe Meadors, Carol Shropshire Pratt, Jim Lusk, Jo Grant Gray and myself. We were pleased to have Jan Pratt, John Wallace and Carolyn Eanes, too.
Circle your 2006 calendars for Friday and Saturday, October 6th and 7th. Start encouraging any classmates you might see between now and then to make an extra effort to show up for this one. I mean, how much more special can a reunion get than THE FIFTIETH? |
