Melissa Rooney (nee Bunin) here. Just had this site passed on to me by a few class members from '88 and thought I'd check it out. Didn't expect such a low correspondence...well, maybe I did. At any rate, I'll add to a hopefully growing list...
My husband Mike and I are into our fourth year living in Melbourne Australia...I'm doing postdoctoral chemistry research in an Australian University Laboratory (Monash University), and Mike works in chemistry equipment sales for a company called Millipore. We met in chemistry grad school at the University of North Carolina, married upon graduation in 1998 and moved to Oz. We are expecting our first child this January--scary and exciting. Am looking forward to being back in the states in about a year, and hopefully seeing some people in Martinsville when I'm home.
For those interested in more info on my personal life, check out my webpage (which hasn't been updated since I became pregnant!):

And for recent photos of our pregnant family:

I'll check back again soon for (hopefully) some more info on some of my old classmates out there!

So is '89. That's why I had to check out your class. I am very happy for your family's new arrival. My son is eight years old. He is enjoying a snow day from school here in Beaverdam. |

Melissa,
You have lived up to all my expectations. I am happy reading of your intellectual success. I am here in Martinsville living up the street from where I grew up. I can not believe that 20 years have flown by and we are getting ready for another reunion. I remember going down to Lake Lanier and Physics class during our Senior Year like it was yesterday. Mr. Wilson asks about you when we go backpacking or climbing. I hope the pregnancy goes well and your child is healthy. I know he/she will be intelligent. Your husband is a lucky man to have such a wonderful woman. I look forward to seeing you during our reunion.
