Regarding the 9/24 posting by Tammie Holley Lewis (1992)...."What's up with all these people not coming to the reunion? You better come now before we get too old to do this thing!" and the 10/9 post by Shannon Johnson...."I can not believe the small number of alumni going to the reunion! What is up with that?"
You better pay attention to them!!!
I just came back from our 45th Reunion -- we're "gettin' up there" and our numbers are starting to dwindle almost as fast as we're having grandchildren. I kept thinking, "We're not old enough to be this old...we were just 18 a few years ago!"
I observed the greying hair and the not-quite-as-small waistlines, and all I saw were the pretty girls and darlin' fellas I grew up with, partied with, and graduated with. The fun we had back then is rivaled only by the fun we have now reliving those days!
Some in our class passed away much too young -- their names were read as a candle was lit for each one. I glanced around the room and saw wistful smiles on the faces of those who were mentally reliving a special memory of their friends.
Time passes much too quickly. Don't miss a chance to renew old acquaintes, relive memories, share triumphs, sorrows, budding careers, marriages, children, and (later) grandchildren. Those happy times with classmates are our history and our future!
And, like me, you'll be flying high for weeks after every one of your reunions!!!
Rock on, Mavahi!
