Hello all!
I hope this finds you well! It is nice to see so many using the mavahi.com message board, as this is a great place to post information about the upcoming reunion!
I have noticed that we have had a great deal of interest in the reunion plans so far - which is fantastic!
Although a save-the-date is due to go out soon, along with other related information and registration sheets, the Reunion Committee wanted to let everyone watching on mavahi.com to know that the date has, indeed, been set for the weekend following Thanksgiving.
We understand this is late in the year, and that many of you have been seeking information for some time. The long and short of it....the committee agreed to a fall date instead of spring for the key reasons: (1) we just didn't have enough addresses collected by December to send out invites (despite numerous attempts to collects them); (2) a fall date gave us more time to collect addresses, get a more representative committee together, and better plan something worthy of the class of '94; and then (3) since most graduates live outside of Martinsville now, we felt if we planned around a holiday we would get
better attendance.
SO! for all those reasons, Thanksgiving eventually emerged as the winning date. We hope this works well for the majority of you planning to attend!
Currently, a night out at a local Mexican restaurant is planned for Friday to give classmates an informal opportunity to get together with or without their families. Also, an evening dance is being planned for Saturday night as well - more details should be available shortly.
Look forward to seeing you all there!
