James F. Stanley, 69, of Critz, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, N.C.
He was born in Martinsville on Feb. 12, 1939, to Roy Stanley and Lois Light Stanley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Michael Stanley.
He attended Horsepasture Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry Stanley of the home; three daughters, Reneé Roach of Reidsville, N.C., Tanya Gillispie of Martinsville and Kimberly Meadows of Horsepasture; two sons, Chris Stanley and Craig Stanley, both of Ridgeway; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Benjamin Stanley of Louisa; two sisters, Barbara Jones of Ridgeway and Rita Aven of Titusville, Fla.; and seven nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Horsepasture Christian Church with Pastor David Cuthbertson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at Horsepasture Christian Church from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Bassett Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
