I was saddened to read in today's MARTINSVILLE BULLETIN that we had lost another classmate, JoAnn Key Draper Doss. She will be missed by her family and friends.

JoAnn Key Doss, 70, of 543 Chatmoss Court, Martinsville, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
She was born May 17, 1939, in High Point, N.C., to Victor Walter and Violet Lucille Bullins Key. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Calvin R. Doss, in 2007, and a grandson, Jacob McCoy Akers III.
She graduated from Martinsville High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was a dental hygienist in Danville for 22 years. She also worked with children as a volunteer at Mt. Olivet Elementary School and Henry County Parks and Recreaton for many years.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are one son, Steven Wayne Draper of the home; a daughter, Donna Draper Akers of Martinsville; a sister, Shirley Dale Reeves of Martinsville; and one grandson.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Roselawn Funeral Home’s chapel with Pastor Susan Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour before Monday’s service.
