Hello,
My name is Bob White, and while I have lived in New Mexico for the last 28 years, I read the Bulletin on line everyday, check the Mavahi site for my class ('68) on a regular basis, and enjoy annual visits back to Martinsville and Henry County. I was wondering if any of you could help me with recovering a little family history. My grandparents, Homer and Ruth Minter, had a home which was at 14 Cleveland Ave. For a number of years they took in boarders, many of whom were young single folks that had come to Martinsville to work in various mills and other businesses. My grandmother died in 1953, and in 1957 Homer sold the house to the Martinsville Schools. Where the house stood is now the site of the Middle School Gymnasium, and the old YMCA next to it. While our family photo albums have numerous pictures taken in the front and back yard of the house, we do not have any photos with a view of the full front or back of the house. I would cherish such a photo, and was wondering if any of you might have such a photo of which you could share a copy. I can be reached at the address listed below.

Mr White,
You may want to enquire with a local historian named Desmond Kendrick. He has all sorts of old photos of Martinsville. He is a memeber of the historical society. If I find his email address I will forward it to you!
