| As the guest of my sister, Anna Sparks, I had the privilege of attending the Class of '59's 50th reunion at Forest Park Country Club on Friday, October 9th. What a fantastic job Sue Walker, Larry Turner and their committee did on getting it together. I'm sure they were proud of the terrific turnout. Linda Priddy Wheeler did a beautiful job of decorating the tables with lovely fall/harvest items. Anna and I sat with Wayne and Karen Lawrence, Norman Meeks and Yolanda Donley, and Philip and Shirley Merriman. We enjoyed swapping old Martinsville tales and getting to see so many folks that we had not seen in years. For me, one of the highlights of the evening was getting to see two former teachers, Mr. Shank and Mr. Buckner there, and still looking as young and spry as any of us and even spryer than a few. |
