My Dear Mother, Hessie,as she liked to be called, passed away on September 28, 2017. She was born on June 29, 1927 in Henry County,She came from a large family that saw though times. She was never able to finish high school because of the needs of her family. My mom love school, but there was no transportation available 5o the nearest high school. After getting married, she moved into the city. She loved Martinsville. She would listen to football and basketball games on the radio, hoping to hear my name. She encouraged two of her children to complete college and go on to professional careers...for that, I am forever greatful. Her husband Raymond B. Wilson, my father, was officially inducted into and given the honorary title of graduate, MHS class of 1938. I, Kenneth E. Wilson hereby induct and present the honorary title of MHS graduate class of 1945 to Hester Ann Wilson for her dedication and affection to Martinsville High School, Cleveland Avenue. Martinsville, Virginia. |
