Jerry M. Doss - 12
12/19/07     Jackie Sale Hurd  (1965)      jm-hurd@comcast.net
The following obituary appeared in today's edition of the Martinsville Bulletin newspaper. Is this the same Jerry Mays Doss who graduated with the class of '65?

Jerry M. Doss

Doss was born in Martinsville on Oct. 1, 1945, to Drury Vester Doss and Mary Elizabeth Meadows Doss. His parents preceded him in death. Re: Jerry M. Doss
Jackie, thanks for the post. I just wanted to convey my sympathy to his family and/or friends. I remember Jerry well, and don't think I ever saw him without a smile on his face or laughing. We saw him as disabled, but I don't think Jerry had a disability, as he never knew life without his physical limitations. Jerry was never slowed down, as he was always active, working, and 'on the go'. I can still visualize him driving around in his pristine Ford Falcon....archie

Archie,
I, too, recall Jerry very vividly with that friendly smile on his face. I always considered him to be very handsome with a pleasant personality and a trusting friend.

Re: Jerry M. Doss
He may have been disabled but I remember him having great upper body strength to compensate for his disability and in swim class he could put everyone else to shame.
