I have been working on Ancestry.com for the last couple of weeks. Interesting information has been found on my and wife's families. To date, according to the information I have gathered, I am a direct descendant of King John of England. Brother to Richard the Lionhearted. Some other information has been showing up but I have not verified it yet, but Charlamayne might be an ancestor also. Queen Isabella who sponsored Christopher Columbus is an indirect ancestor, along the line of a very, very, very distant cousin. I had only expected to find relatives back to the early 1600s, but not as far back as 975. I still have a lot of research to do and seems no end in sight. If you have not tried locating ancestors, you might want to give it a try. It keeps me at home, off the streets and out of the bars.

Hey George!
I tried that Ancestry.com but only got back
to the Civil War era before I got depressed at
my stupid relatives! Found out that my great
grandfather had fought for the West in the war.
