50th - 12
12/29/12     Kathy Rice  (1965)      katfos47@yahoo.com
Some of us attended the Old Dawgs reunion in October and had an opportunity to discuss ideas for the 50th reunion. The suggestion for a cruise was discussed and it seems to be a popular choice. If we do that it will take more planning than usual. Please give us your input. It would be a week end thing to Bahamas probably. Can't wait to hear from all of you.

Re: 50th
I won't be able to make a cruise.

Re: 50th
I would love to participate but I am in a situation with my husband and his health that might end my hopes to go. I hope the plans for others works out.

Re: 50th
The only cruise I want to take is the one down the Jersey Turnpike to Martinsville in 2015.
Maybe those who want a ship party could do it as an after-party.

Re: 50th
Kathy, thanks for all that you do in helping our class and the 'Old Dawgs' keep in touch. One of the things Jenny and I have enjoyed most about our reunions has been returning to M'ville with the sights, sounds and memories of our younger days there. We would prefer to keep the reunion in M'ville where our relationships began. Hope to see you in 2015!

Re: 50th
Wow! Initially, a 50th Reunion cruise sounded cool, but then started thinking about the logistics of the deal. Just might be a burden on us "senior citizens" to get to the point of
departure (probably Fort Lauderdale or maybe Charleston)
to the Bahamas for a weekend! Yet, where there's a will,
there's a way! Happy New Year to all!

Re: 50th
Kathy, I too want to thank you for all your many years of keeping us together. While I would enjoy a cruise, I do not want to go on one at this time. Think those who can and want to go should do so, and we still could have a "hometown" reunion at another time. In other words, why not have two 50-year reunions. We deserve it! After all, who knew 50 years ago we would be here to have one, two, three ...

Re: 50th
I'm afraid we would lose alot of people by having a cruise. I, too, so appreciate the efforts of Kathy et all every five years and they have always done a stellar job. While I understand the idea to "do something new", I'm not sure we really WANT anything new!:) I for one, just like spending the weekend with everyone and think past venues-Rusty's and a cc have worked quite well.

Re: 50th
I appreciate where you all are coming from. We will not have a cruise. Just let me say that it is becoming more and more difficult to find a venue here in town that suits everyone. Forest Park has opened to the public for golf and has no chef. Lynwood is closed. We get complaints about Chatmoss being too expensive so some won't come, and I was practically disowned for using Bassett Country Club because it was in the county and they were our rivals. Martinsville is not what it used to be. We will put a reunion 50th reunion together but please be kind and understand our situation.
