50th reunion - 12
09/22/14     Kathy  (1965)      katfos47@yahoo.com
Members of our class who will be attending the Old Dawgs reunion on October 11th will be meeting after the luncheon to discuss our 50th next year. If you have suggestions for the reunion, please express them here or to me directly. We really try to plan something everyone will enjoy but it isn't possible. We always get complaints afterwards regarding one thing or another. We are open to your ideas. We also invite you to join us on October 11th to discuss the plans for next year. Looking forward to hearing from some of you. HELP!!!

Re: 50th reunion
Kathy, I especially enjoyed the 45th reunion and the "Beach Boys" Tribute Band. Their performance was superb and I heard only admiration and awe for the show (see comments and postings for Oct 2010 below). Is there a Beatles or Motown Tribute Band in our future? In order for this 50th to be the special event it should be requires not only a reunion committee to do the advance planning but also for the attendees to start planning and looking forward to the event now. It is sad to see someone a few weeks in advance of the reunion and they announce they "can't" attend because they are committed to a routine event of some sort. Once the date is set, start letting family know that weekend is off limits for everything else. Most of us will be 68-69 years old when this reunion kicks off, surely you deserve at least one weekend for yourselves. Worse is having to hear someone gripe about the "HIGH" cost of the event. (In case you haven't checked lately a McDonald's happy meal is over $4.00 after tax and a Big Mac, Fries and Coke are over $7.00) Start budgeting now. Let's have a great 50th reunion that leaves everyone talking about it for years. We're the class of '65 and we have always set the standard for a good time, while daring to be different and "never" doing the ordinary. Our legacy is now and we deserve to be good to ourselves and prove to the world we haven't become a bunch of crotchety old people!!!! So stay healthy and happy. Looking forward to seeing everyone as we enjoy a truly "First Class" 50th Class reunion

Re: 50th reunion
Kathy, I plan to be there for Oct. 11 Old Dawgs lunch. AND I plan to be at the planning meeting for our class's 50th.
Just mailed my lunch check to you. Philip Sparks's message was right on--We do need to spread the word about the date, when it is set, so folks will keep it open!
ttfn--Janie
