Death of a Classmate - 12
06/29/01     Phil Sparks  (1965)      PhilSparks@kimbanet.com
Sadly another classmate has passed away.
James Ronald "Jimmy" Johnson
Born July 27, 1946
Died June 27, 2001
Died suddenly at home.
Survived by his Daughter: Lisa Johnson
Jimmy had served in the U.S. Army for three years and was currently employed by Stanley Furniture as a Maintenance Technician.
There was a graveside service held earlier today at Roselawn Burial Park and several of the people who have known Jimmy spoke of his life and shared of our memories. He will be sadly missed by his many friends.

I was fortunate to have spoken with Jimmy several nights ago. We had enjoyed talking about some old times and planned to get together again in the near term. I was looking forward to that. I am glad we did get to visit that one last time.
If anything good can ever come from the loss of a friend maybe Jimmy's passing can remind us all to stay in touch with those people we value as friends. Because one day, one or the other of us will be left having lost that friendship forever.
Please have a safe and enjoyable Independence Day 2001.....Phil Sparks

Re: Death of a Classmate
Phil, I'm sorry I'm so far behind. I did not know about this wed site until last night (12-27-01). A meeting was held at Ryan's to discuss the MHS alumni association. I usally watch the obituaries pretty close, but I missed this one. Jimmy & I were in grade school together at Joseph Martin. There two things I will always remember about Jimmy: (1) The was the neatest dresser, and always had the shinest Wejon's of anyone. (2) He was the only one I remember who drove a Corvair. I'll miss him!
