Bless Their Souls - 13
05/14/10     Danny Simpson  (1967)      finedesigndan@yahoo.com
My condolences to family and friends and classmates who will miss Donnie and Mike and Joe. I knew them all, not real well, but I don't know anybody all that well. I went waterskiing with Mike on several occasions in the summer of '67. He was the last I saw, back in '69. I think I bought my 1st illegal beer out of the trunk of Hensley's car. About the same time, under the Beatles influence, Bill Prillaman and I walked in the men's store where he held court to be greeted his way going: "Simpson and Prillaman. You shaggy sons..." Thing is all those people I haven't seen are still frozen as they were. This then is another reality slap, that those days are gone. Bless their souls and their survivors.

Re: Bless Their Souls
What nice words Mr. Simpson...do you remember the time, I think it was you and Jerry Moore, stole some beer from Krogers and Betty Hagood and I were in the parking lot so you got into the car and we drove you somewhere out Mulberry so you could hide it until that night? Then Bett's and I went back after taking you guys home and we stole the stolen beers from you!! A bunch of us went to the drive in and had a good ol' time. You and Jerry were so mad at us. Was that you?? I think it was...so many memories.

Re: Bless Their Souls
MR? You steal my beer and call me MR? When Betty accepted me as a Facebook friend she told the same story, her way. Neither of you has it right. Krogers yes. Moore yes. Ride no. Hidden no. The truth. We shoplifted the beer (no risk as I've been banned from Krogers) and stowed it in Betty's black '58 Imperial. You two aided and abetted by waiting in the parking lot. Returning from our last hit, we found y'all gone. The drive-in we learned about later. Forget never. You remain frozen as part of my long lost and one of my favorites. Best wishes. Love, Mr. Danny.

Re: Bless Their Souls
Oh no my kind sir Mr. Danny...it is you who are in error. Bett's and I are never wrong. Just ask any of the YAYA's!! You hid the beer, we went and got it and you two tried to break into my house to get it back!!
I would love to hear from you. I don't do facebook, but you have my e address. The lies we could tell...

Re: Bless Their Souls
Before this goes all inappropriate (soon enough) I think we should confess that our intent is to give the spirits that were Donnie, Mike, and Joe, along with those who knew them, a giggle. What else can you do? Following the established themes, Mike once drove Jerry and me to Danville to shoplift for him. He wanted a Beatles album. I don't remember what we got him, but it may have been flea dip and a water pistol. Here's a question they all will enjoy: Which do you think gave me the greatest pleasure, smelling your perfume, or driving your Dad's brand new '64 2-tone brown Chevy with the 3-speed on the column?
