Coach Cartwright - 13
02/14/02     Johnny Bryant  (1966)      flyfish@naxs.net
To this day I am honored to have been coached by a man who instilled toughness in me. Coach not only taught but he played many a summer evening game at the city park with us. He opened gyms at Druid Hills and Patrick Henry so we could play. His passion for basketball and excellence is what laid the foundation for the MHS basketball dynasty of a state record 11 state championships. 55

HI JOHNNY. THANKS FOR THE NICE WORDS ABOUT THE COACH. HE WILL BE MISSED. ARE YOU LIVING IN M'VILLE? I THINK I MET YOUR SON A COUPLE OF SUMMERS AGO IN MY PARENTS YARD. WE WERE PLAYING CROQUET AND HE AND HIS COUSIN WANTED TO PLAY TOO. CUTE LITTLE BOYS. I'M IN TOUCH WITH LOTS OF THE GIRLS. I WILL LET THEM KNOW WHERE YOU ARE IF YOU LET ME KNOW. IT IS FUN FINDING OUT WHERE EVERYONE IS AND WHATS UP IN THEIR LIVES. THIS SITE IT SO GREAT. PLEASE LET ME HEAR FROM YOU. I HEAR ON THE NEWS THAT M'VILLE IS RELIVING ITS HEYDAY ON THE BASKETBALL COURT. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A GAME.

Re: Coach Cartwright
Johnny, It's been a long time. Good to see your name come up, and hope to see you at an OLD DAWG reunion one day. I was never sportmanly talented enough to have THE COACH for a coach, i just emember him as being there for anyone if they needed him. If any of us can have the respect that that man had in life we will be doing well. I also miss the days i spent browsing in your father's store, buying models that would one day meet a firery fate. and i miss the sledding we did off the Patrick Henry Hill while we burned a tire or two. hope all is well, See you soon, John
