Hi to all !!!!!! - 14

I do hope all my good friends are doing well. John Exley referred me to this site and I have been enjoying it for the last few minutes. Its great to see what folks are doing and to rekindle so many old, yet good memories of MAVAHI. Reunion sounds like a great idea since we have been able to organize anything on our own it seems.

Ive been in Richmond since mid 70's when I came to VCU for grad school. Got married to wonderful gal, many of you have met, Jane in 78. Sam is our 19year old son who had "collegiate aversion syndrome"--tried college twice and just didnt like it. Hes working in Richmond and is on his own and is just a delightful young man.

Im real excited as just this month was appointed by Gov. Mark Warner as Commissioner of Dept of Rehab Services. Quite a challenge in these economic time, but its fun. Work real close w Ward Armstrong and Roscoe Reynolds the Delegate and Senator from Martinsville and we have another Bulldog--Delegate Sam Nixon from Chesterfield County in our Va General Assembly.

Never cease to be amazed at who I run into from Mville at state capitol or in Richmond.

Hope to see bunches of you in May.

Best to all.

Jim Rothrock

Rock its been a long time. I see Dru at the golf cource in M-Ville all the time. Still have memories of 4 of us riding on your chair at one time going down the hill at Druid Hills School. What a trip untill RUTH caught us. Keep in touch lets get everybody together again.

Hello Jim!
Haven't run into you lately......congrat's on your appointment. Gov Warner is smart to surround himself with folks that know their stuff! I'm still in Richmond as well, working with ALSTOM Power.....totally different than anything I've done in years, but really enjoying the change of pace. Do hope to see you & Jane in Martinsville in May (unless I see you in Richmond before then!) I, too, recall the night Ruth came around the corner! She was not a "happy camper" with any of us! Such great memories.

Hi Jim
Thanks for our chat on the phone about ten years ago. It really made a difference. My son Wes is doing very well and is now half way through law school. I am glad to hear that you are doing so well also. Keep up the good work!

Thanks again!
