A Good Time Was Had By All - 15
05/13/08     Bob White  (1968)      quailster57@gmail.com
What a great weekend it was! I salute Beth/Molly/Will for a great job of planning, and quite literally, bulldogging the final product. It was amazing that so many of us spent so many years in M'ville, and had no idea that the set of The Shining was sitting on top of a mountain in Fieldale. I am sure that for years to come, I will wake screaming in the night trying to ward off attacks from the rather sinister looking doll that was part of the pillow arrangement on my bed. It is probably for the best that so few of us knew about the Clubhouse given the various stories of youthful vandalism which were shared over the weekend. That hill would have made a long roll for a pumpkin.

I was really touched in watching the reactions of folks walking up the hill, and setting eyes on their old classmates for the first time in years. I could see the joy in their eyes, and it reached down through the layers of fat to touch my heart.

I anxiously await the posting of photos, and I have sent along some of mine for Will to review with Phillip's. Hopefully, they will hit the Mavahi site. If you were asleep during the patience classes of our youth, then send me your email and I will forward along the link to their Picassa Web Album.
Finally, I hope that the DVD includes the tales that Dianne Doyle Chambers' husband related to a group of us regarding their ongoing battles with the particularly fearsome squirrels of Greenville, SC. Several of us were having a difficult time breathing due to the laughter.
We need to do these on a regular schedule, but I am sure they will in no other way become regular.
