| I was just wondering (wandering), does this DVD do a cover of Steely Dan's "Barrytown" from the classic album Pretzel Logic? If not, maybe you should edit it to include it... I know that this song is not in the exact zeigeist from a historical perspective, but pretty damned close. Assanations of Bobby Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Viet Nam War, etc. It was not just golfing, shagging to "under the boardwalk" Sam and Dave, The Supremes, cardigan sweater's from Ted's and Atkin's Style Center for Men, etc. etc. There were thousands of young lives being destroyed by a needless war and other governmental and corporate driven bullshit going down that was far more important and in need of being exposed and addressed. Anti-war protest on college campuses, riots in Detroit,Berkley, etc. Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Abbie Hoffman, Allen Ginsberg, Tim Leary, George Harrison, Tom Hayden, Pete Seeger,Joan Baez, Students For A Democratic Society, Black Panthers, Angela Davis,Malcom X, Democratic Convention in Chicago etc. etc.. Let's not allow ourselves to be dumbed down to the level that the past and present "powers of darkness" have tried in earnest to bring us to. We were the post "Dawning of the Age of Aquarius", pre-"Woodstock Nation" before the nightmarish Charlie Manson's, Altamont Rock Festival and the banality of hedonism (disco) "do your thing" Cocaine, etc. that followed (or was promoted). Check out Gil Scott-Heron's "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" for a "flashback" to that era. And on a final note, how many of you "Fortunate Sons" (or not have ever visited the Viet Nam War Memorial in Washington? If you haven't, shame on ya! In the words of Harry Georgeson, "watch out now, take care beware of soft shoe shufflers dancing down the sidewalks, as each unconscious sufferer wanders aimlessly, beware of maya, watch out now take care beware of greedy leaders, They'll take where you should not go, while weeping atlas cedars they just want to grow-beware of darkness." If not you will wind up where we are now with 30 + years of Nixon and his tin soilders, Ronald Reagan, the old man Bush and his idiot son and his evil bastards etc. Have A Nice Day! |

Excellent post, Mr. Robert Campbell.
Having lived in the D.C. area for 30+ years, I am honored to inform you that I have visited the Viet Nam Memorial numerous times. I would also like to add that I walked away with the same 'gut-wrenching' feeling each and every time.
