Happy birthday to Chris Foster - 15
04/03/10     Chris Foster  (1968)      wfoster@mcvh-vcu.edu
I am wishing myself happy birthday tomorrow. Today to celebrate it, I decided to hike Old Rag Mountain. It is one of those things you do because you still can. It is described as STRENUOUS 8.8 mile hike, and it certainly lived up to that. We were clearly the oldest people we saw on the hike. The average age was probably 25-30. One of those other things you do because you still can is looking doubtful. My poor old arthritic knees and muscles are so sore that the only way anything will happen with me tonight is if I don't have to move. Since my wife is only four months younger than me, and did the same hike I did, the only way anything will happen with her is if she doesn't have to move, so things aren't looking good for the home team. One of the best pieces of advice I ever read was that you only grow old if you act your age; so I am still trying to fool mother nature. I think Jennifer's idea to get together for a group birthday celebration is a good one. We should try to pull it off. All of my best to everyone. Chris
