Stephen Lester's dad - 15
01/12/07     Beth Hammill Byrnes  (1968)      bethbyrnes@bellsouth.net
Stephen Lester's dad, Jack, passed away in Martinsville on January 8, 2007. I am sure that the entire class of '68 joins me in sending both Stephen & his mom & sister our condolences. Those of us who attended the reunion cocktail party last May, at the home of Cathy Simmon's mom, had the pleasure of seeing Mr. and Mrs. Lester there. They both looked great and thoroughly enjoyed seeing all of Stephen's classmates. I have a great picture of them! Stephen was in England and unable to attend this reunion. We all hope to see him in 2008!

I especially have fond memories of Jack Lester as both our families attended First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Lester always had a smile and a kind word for everyone he met. He and Mrs. Lester were very active in the church and shared many memories with my parents who now live in Athens, GA. When I spoke to my mom & dad yesterday, they were very saddened to lose yet another good friend whom they have kept in contact with over all these many years. It's a tough part of life to lose a parent and I send my love to Stephen and his family. Our thoughts & prayers are with you.
