Susie Sowden Guldan's mom - 15
04/16/07     Beth Hammill Byrnes  (1968)      bethbyrnes@bellsouth.net
Susie lost her dear mother on Friday, April 13th. The service was Sunday, April 15th. I know that everyone in our class will have Susie and her family in their prayers.

We missed seeing Susie at the 2007 reunion but are hopeful that she'll be with us in 2008. The class of '68 has lost so many parents recently and I know that each time it happens, each of us feels the sorrow and pain of our grieving classmate. We are a class that has always stayed close but I really think that in the last few years that closeness has increased. Maybe due to our losses, maybe our age. But, it's comforting to know that in times of sadness and in times of joy, your long time friends are there with you.

We love you, Susie and will keep you close in our hearts.Cards can be sent to Susie Guldan, 453 Chippewa Circle, Sumter, S.C. 29150

Re: Susie Sowden Guldan's mom
You are so right, Beth, about the number of parents our class has lost in recent months and how it affects us all. Our classmates' parents are a part of our childhoods and we feel the loss as well. I think that is part of the reason we feel closer.

Another reason we feel closer is you have done a wonderful job of keeping us informed about these things and accomplishments. I really appreciate your doing this; most especially since I have moved out of Martinsville and do not hear of these events like I used to.

Thank you for your diligence here.
