My first book is called SKITS, RAPS, AND POEMS FOR THE SCHOOL COUNSELOR, and is written for anyone who works with grades 5-8.
It is a collection of lessons for classroom guidance or small groups on topics such as motivation, peer relations, impulse control, anger management, careers, and a variety of other areas.
If you know anyone who is a school counselor, Science/Health teacher, camp counselor, or anyone else who works with upper elementary and middle school kids, please let them know!
The book is available on Amazon, as well as the National Center for Youth Issues, or for more information from my publisher in Pennsylvania, click here.
Cheers! |

Congrats David, I know a lot of work had to go into that project and I hope you make a good profit and many more publishing endeavors follow! |

Hi, David,
I'm so impressed! I checked out your book and it really looks awesome. I love teaching that way! I would buy it, but I recently retired from teaching. Now I do a lot of part-time work tutoring kids in math. Mr. May would sure be surprised! I will let my counselor friends know about your book! Good luck with it. Terri Sawyer Calaman

Thanks, Don and Terri!
Don, are you still in S.C.? I still think about that wild weekend when we went up to party at Virginia Tech!
Terri, I still think of you any time I hear the Rolling Stones! My oldest son is about to enter the teaching profession (high school math) after just receiving his Masters from UCLA....that is, if he can get hired. Schools here in Atlanta are cutting back to the bone and he's having a rough go of it. It'll all work out OK, though, we're thinking positive.
Cheers! |

David, you just keep us all together! I still dream of our classmates so often; wonder why that is? I am so thrilled that you have a book published! You always sound like you have such a happy, fulfilled life. Thank God for that. I am pleased to say that I have come to a point in life where I am feeling happy, satisfied, pretty good about myself and my life. It was a long time coming, but it's here at last. |
